Beneath the rainy streets of Stormwall lies the lower district, below that lies the lawless undercity and even further lies The Gutters.
All that has been disposed off runs through The Gutters. The grimy sewers are teeming with strange creatures, but the most notable may be The Gutter King - The Bullywug King.
He holds the largest domain within the maze like tunnels and canals. The Bullywugs of The Gutters are not entirely the most organized or skilled at anything in particular. They are driven by zealous determination to appease their king and deity.
The Bullywugs search The Gutters and sometimes even wander into the city above in search of great treasures to appease their masters. Normally this is just stealing food from market stalls, stealing shiny silverware or broken scraps of equipment from foolish adventurers.
Not many have laid eyes upon the magnificence that is The Bullywug King. His bloated mass easily makes him the largest of all his kin - the only thing said to be larger than 'his dankness' is their god that dwells further below.
Those that have earned an audience with The Bullywug King are quick to learn that the Bullywugs follow a very strict - but seemingly nonsensical set of traditions. Their king goes by many titles and the Bullywugs will warn adventurers many times before they enter the throne room.
When entering the throne room of The Bullywug King, adventurers are met with numerous groveling Bullywugs filling a grim filled room. A deafening silence is broken by the sound of water dripping until the heavy breathing of their king draws near. Soon the groans of multiple Bullywugs carrying a rickety palanquin that creaks beneath the mass of the king fill the hall. Tributes of grim covered baubles and not-sure-if-edible food are quickly brought to his moistness. Upon his terrible throne, the most bloated Bullywug mortal eyes have laid upon. He wears a crown of silverware and his crown jewel is a mighty spork. A sad, wet and torn cape from a king costume from a popular play is draped upon it's back. What is mysterious though is the three eye pendants resting upon it's engorged belly.
From the dark, multiple Bullywugs of notable garb stand by their king. These Bullywugs would be the valiant Gutter Knight, the nimble Gutterknife and the imposing Gutter Brute - The Bullywug Elite, the most loyal to the king. A Bullywug stands tall as it unrolls a soiled scroll - after each title the Bullywugs cheer.
"Welcome honoured guests of His Moistness. King of The Bullywugs, The Gutter King, Lord of The Dank Throne, The Beholder of Baubles, Herald of The Three-Eyed God, Emperor of The Filth Pits, Master of The Muck, The Far-tongued, The Baron of The Below, The Magnificent and Moistest of us All!"
"May His Folds Never Dry!"
The crowd of Bullywugs all cheer repeat the last phrase several times before The Bullywug King slowly raises his hand to silence his servants. All that could be heard was the dripping sewage. laboured breathing and sputtering of the king.
At this point, most adventurers can see the devout nature of these creatures. With their sheer numbers and zealotry, it might be the end of their adventure if The Bullywug King called for their execution.
