In her youth, Reina found a hidden passage in the family manor in Ardynfel. A dark stairwell leading to a chamber far below the basement. Below the family manor there was an empty chamber except for a stone pedestal holding what appeared to be a black sphere of glass.
Reina’s innocent curiosity or an otherworldly force drawing her to the orb would scar her mind for the rest of her life.
As soon as her hands grasped the orb it would light up with an eldritch green aura as strange magic swirled within. Series of strange scenes flashed before her eyes.
Scenes of undead legions filling the streets of Ardynfel, large rings of metal spinning, the family manor up in flame, a blue-green glowing crystal, infernal machines upon glassy sand, sinewy ethereal wings, floating ruined architect and massive boar-faced demon toppling a colossal gold statue, a hooded face obscured in darkness.
Throughout the terrible scenes, a deep layered voice projects itself over the chaotic noises of the scenes being displayed before her.
“In my rumination, I have found a terrible truth. Mortal life has no purpose, in death you fuel our eternal conflict. I will bring everlasting peace. I will bring an end to all life.”
Hours had passed, what felt like moments to Reina. Her parents soon found her after this harrowing event. Revealing this place was a mystery to her parents as well. Fearing what this strange artifact was, they sent it away.
Through the years, she found the haunting visions were true. Her family home was burned down during the Rise of Agannon. Her parents murdered in the home before the flames consumed it. Only her brother and her remained of their family line. An old family friend, Gavriel took them to a family estate to train them against the forces that threatened them and the world.
Now an adult, with a bladed whip, sword and sorcerous magic at hand to defeat all that get in her way. Her tattered family coat on her back bearing the Cervantes crest means most to her. As she seeks vengeance against those that murdered her parents and to restore her family name.
Her visions still haunt her to this day, she struggles alone to make sure these things never come to pass. Even if it means sending every outsider back herself.
