Lesser Mummies
The corrupt nation of Saathrasesh is ruled by The Pharaoh and The Great Houses. These and nearly all of the lower nobility of Saathrasesh are undead. The lower classes live in poverty under the undying fist of their rulers.
Saathrasesh is open about slavery and is in fact one of their most common punishment for their ridiculous laws. Such as drinking from the fountain waters that flow through the city is punishable by death and enslavement. Most that suffer the ill fate of being caught up in the justice system wind up as mindless mummies to watch over the tombs of long slumbering nobles. However, as it is the nature of the shifting sands to bury the past and forget about it - most will serve far beyond the years stated for their crimes. Plus few nobles follow the rules all the time and even fewer care about the rights of living class beneath them.
Either way, those that suffer the fate of mummification are doomed to be mindless husks filled with rot and inhuman strength. Despite their withered form, a strike from a mummy can leave a commoner mortally wounded as their body festers from the rot... or they die instantly from the sheer force of the strike.
Mummies follow their master as per the curse placed upon them and they are quite deadly. Making them great sentinels for the tombs across The Dead Sands of Saathrasesh.
