Aurekesh, The Mummy Lord

The ancient sands of Saathrasesh hold lost tombs and priceless treasures from forgotten ages. Deep within the Lost Sands, the tomb of Aurekesh The Golden awaits to emerge from the burning dunes.

Aurekesh, comes from a time far before the time of The Pharaoh Amon'Hakkar. He served his Pharaoh without question or failure, he was rewarded greatly for his deeds. However, like most things in Saathrasesh he was eventually abandoned and forgotten when his Pharaoh's reign ended.

During his golden days, he waged battles against the denizens of The Undersands and the zealous elves that travelled the dunes. Undefeated, he soaked his blade in the blood of elves, man and monster. His sword was blessed by the gods themselves as he slew his foes.

After attending a ceremony in honour of The Pharaoh, Aurekesh was ambushed by a group of elves. One by one his men fell to theirs arrows and blades.
He met blades with their commander, any elf that stepped in was cut down by his golden great khopesh. Their fight ended with him killing the elf, but he didn't walk away unscathed. With their final moments of life, the elf drew an arrow and lodged it into Aurekesh's right eye.

Priests and sorcerers did what they could to mend his eye, but there was little that could be done. Instead, he was gifted with a golden eye to strike down those that oppose him. Within it, a terrible font of scorching energy could summoned at will.
-
As all lords of Saathrasesh, at the end of his days he was granted eternal life in undeath. As a renowned warrior,  a hero of the Pharaoh - his slumber would be in luxury. He now held a vote in political matters and would be called upon if war should ever plague the great lands of Saathrasesh.
