Arachneans
In the deep roads of Khaz'Dormin, a forgotten threat begins to fester in the dark.
Blessed or cursed by a long forgotten spider god, the Arachneans are a hybrid of giant spiders from the dark below and humanoids. Different sects of the spider cult view this transformation as a blessing or curse. It is said to be a painful transformation and most die in the process - those that survive are forever changed. Zealous and cruel, like no other.
More than most, they despise the dwarves they once fought for control of the dark below. Driven to obscurity, they schemed and gathered their strength to take back the domain of their deity. Of course, they will never stop with just the dark below. As their deity demands that all be within her great web.
