Luther, The Arcane Knight

A valiant Arcane Knight of Osterath. The Order of Arcane Knights operates out of the Southern province of Ardyn, Osterath.

Luther was a young and talented member of his order that was swept up in a campaign of fate. He always fought to leave the world a better place than it was before. Those that knew him could always count on him and he was willing to make the sacrifice if would mean those close to him would live. Knights of the order would often travel the world assisting those they can.

Originally, he was out assisting the people of the realm and was told to seek out the help of a certain group of adventurers. Little did he know the path laid before him when he knocked on the door of the room at the inn. He was greeted by stunned group of mercenaries and travellers, all looking as if the blood had left their faces. The most notable of the bunch was an Aasimar woman named Aurelia. She looked completely dumbfounded by the sight of Luther as she held a card in her hand.

Introductions were made and the pay was good enough for the adventurers at the inn, so they decided to team up for their quest, nothing more.

Eventually, their quest was complete and it was time to part way. However, Luther felt an unnatural obligation to assist the adventurers in their quests - despite protests he was a fated companion.

Through struggles and hardship the party of adventurers became quite close. Ridden with guilt, Aurelia revealed to Luther a great mistake she made. She pulled from her pocket a card. She flipped the card around to reveal 'The Knight' card to Luther. Aurelia clearly holding back her emotions spoke.

"You understand what the stories tell of this card, don't you? You're bound to me, Luther. You couldn't leave my side, even if I told you to. I feel ashamed that this happened. I will undo this, Luther. I never wanted to drag anyone along with me... If anyone can understand being on a path against their will, I can. I'm so sorry."

Years later Aurelia and Luther would faced down one of the greatest evils known, Agannon. Luther was granted a legendary weapon by the smith god Brandr, a blade that could sever Agannon's soul from his phylacteries and make him mortal.

Atop the tallest tower of the necropolis Narvadr, Agannon unleshed his greatest creation - The Mortal Engine. An arcane font attuned to Agannon that consumed the souls of mortals to empower him beyond what was thought possible.

Agannon, a self made God of Undeath would battle Aurelia, Luther and his companions. The fate of all the realms would be doomed if they failed.
